She also served Ghost Peppers -- DON'T eat them plain!

Last Monday we went to the city and that was awesome- we walked around the north side, which I haven't really been to. It was awesome! And we saw the river which didn't look super green, but it was still really pretty :)

This week, hermana Kohlhase and I taught the restoration to a new investigator, and we had a girl from the ward named Jessy come with us- it went great! It was hermana K's first time teaching the restoration in Spanish (we didn't even practice- it was a surprise stop-by lesson) and she did great! :)

I went to a leadership training meeting with some other missionaries (hermana Toney and I were temporary companions for a day :) who's ready for round four??) and it was sweet- we learned a better way to teach the gospel that's so much more simple and spirit-driven.. I've loved practicing and preparing, and I think it will help make my teaching a LOT better, which is really needed haha :P

On Friday, we went to help with a baptism that the other Hermanas were helping with- it was the baptism of two 9-year old cousins. They were so cute and so excited. The whole thing went great, even though hermana Kohlhase tried to end I'm a Child of God a verse early haha :) good times... But it was great!

Then on Saturday, Mario and Angel were baptized! The 9-year old twins of a returning less-active family that we've been working with for months. It finally happened!! And it went really well- the parents were SO HAPPY. ha I don't know how else to explain it, but it was beautiful, I love it :)
One of my favorite things was that Angel wanted his primary teacher, Hermano Lima, to baptize him. Angel sat with him the whole service, and Hermano Lima had his arm around him the whole time. It was just so sweet, I wish I could've taken a picture of it or something, but it was just so sweet to see.

The next day (Sunday) was pretty hilarious though because that's when we did all the confirmations for all four kids that were baptized.
Hermano Lima blessed Angel first. At the end of the blessing, he looked up at him and said, "I'm Mario"..... That's what you get for baptizing and confirming identical twins!! Haha it was so funny, the whole ward almost lost it. The men at the front that were doing the confirmations couldn't help themselves chuckling. It was so funny. Soooo Hermano MariƱas confirmed MARIO, and Hermano Lima confirmed the real Angel. Hahaha  but hey, they both got Baptized AND confirmed, which is the most important part :)

Hermano Correa came to church again yesterday! YES. And he has never read the Book of Mormon cover-to-cover. He's not even reading it right now. So I made a bet (I don't know what other word to use) with him to see who could finish the Book of Mormon first- him, or the little blonde juerra (me). He doesn't have work now because he's waiting for his foot to heal, so he has a LOT of time at home to read it... But I read pretty fast... I literally EAT the Book of Mormon I love it so much. So, well see! And he texted us this morning and said he had an appointment with the bishop last night and he is preparing to go to the temple! Yes :D

Last night we went to the Pasha's house for dinner. I love going to their house! Hermana is a Mexican, and is Mormon. Hermano is Iranian and is Muslim. There is SO much culture in that house, I just love it so much! And hermana pasha helped us cook (Persian food for dinner:)) so that was awesome- I just eat that stuff up, literally and figuratively. I got to take a little trip to the Middle East for dinner last night :)

She also served Ghost Peppers, which I've only HEARD about. They are the spiciest peppers. They are green, and barely as long as half of my pinky finger. Ha I finally tried them (DONT eat them plain). Ha but it was awesome. My spice adventures continue....

One thing I had an epiphany about a couple weeks ago that I forgot to mention is modesty. Not as a missionary, just modesty in general.
When I was in high school, I dressed modestly, but I remember times where I wanted to wear a skirt or shorts just barely above my knees, and mom wouldn't let me. I thought it was dumb, but whatever. Now looking back, I'm so glad that I always followed the direction received from our prophets and apostles about modesty. Basically because it prevents a lot of problems and heartache... I had an epiphany that every single one of my Mormon friends who didn't dress modestly, or who didn't take it seriously, had law of chastity issues at some level or another. Likewise, every single one of my Mormon friends who DID take it seriously didn't have problems with stuff like that.
Food for thought.
May not seem like a big deal, but I promise you, in the long run, it is.
Plus, there comes a certain attitude when your not dressing modestly. Over time, you ignore it, but really. I don't know how else to explain it, but it's kind of like a prideful attitude when your not dressing modestly. I've experienced it.
So, yeah. Dress modestly. It may seem dumb, but just do it- it's important, and looking back, I'm soooooo grateful that I always dressed modestly.
Ha yep, that's the epiphany I had the other day (I'm pretty sure in the shower... It's a good thinking place :))

For my little race with hermano correa, I'm reading the Book of Mormon all over again. But I decided to mark every time it mentions either missionary or gospel words. One of those gospel words is faith. And it's pretty sweet to read about Nephi with a focus on faith... That's where he gets his power from! That's how he is able to accomplish amazing things and receive the insight and testimony that he has-- because of his faith! Food for thought. I thought that was sweet.

I think that's it for me today-- just trucking along, loving life. It's going well and the weather is finally shaping up (but I hear this week will be cold again :P). But it's fun.
Love you!!

Hermana Walton
